Sakkti Velan is now 5!
Dear Bumi Matha,
I'm five years old today, and we're not in Malaysia. I asked Thambi to write to Bagyashri and tell her we are in Singapore and not to look for us , and I sure hope he did that.
We went to the underwater world today at Sentosa Island, and we saw pink dolphins, sharks and seals. The seal was dancing about 1m away from my leg.
We also went to the Gardens by the Bay where we ate a hearty nasi goreng.
In the evening, we cut a cake by the poolside.
Zzzz.....a bit sleepy now.....but it was a glorious birthday.......thank you Appa....thank you Amma
can't wait for the plane ride home tomorrow.....that was awesome too......

Hittting the 1 meter mark!
Dear Bumi Matha,
I turned 4 today, and I also hit the 1 meter mark on the height scale. Still about 14kgs, but I suppose the food that I eat all goes towards making me taller. I eat a lot of cheese and a lot of rice, but no much of anything else. I do eat plenty of fish and chicken and all that makes my muscles grow!
I had two cakes today, one Mickey Mouse cake ( which I cut at school) and one Captain Oso cake which I cut at home. Rita Attai bought me a scooter, and I've been having some serious fights with Thambi because of that.
Anyway, teacher Indira gave me a present, and I was truly excited. But when I told Amma, she laughed and said that the 'present' was actually the party bag she had prepared for my friends.....well.....it's all part of the plan...more or less.

On my 3rd birthday....

Dear Bumi Matha,
Today I turned 3. I had an animal themed cake, and I sang my own birthday song. Amirthinee helped to blow out my three candles. I’m 96cm and 12.5kg. Maybe a little underweight, but cheeky and handsome all the same. Oh, did I mention I have a new cousin? Amirthinee’s sister, Akseeya, joined the clan on the 4th of June.
I can speak well now. I understand everything you say to me in English and Tamil, and if I don’t know something, I can tell you that too. Amma’s teaching me how to say “satu, dua, tiga, empat” and I’m leaning to write “A” and “B”. But to tell you the truth, I prefer to just play with my belt or the watch Tata gave me for my birthday. But I love to read books. Especially if they have pictures of animals in them. Tata gave me a book about dinosaurs and Nithi Mama gave me a book about dogs.
And oh, did I tell you about my BMW?!!!!!!!! My very first red 5 series, remote control or pedal, battery operated…..and it’s just so funky. Thambi get’s to ride in it with me too. Thanks to Appa.

Sakkti Velan's 1st birthday bash
Today was my very first birthday bash!
My birthday invite will tell you that Bob the Builder RULED in my party- yeah!!
SO everything- from the balloon to the backdrop to my birthday costume, was Bob the Builder. Amma even insisted that the guest come dressed in red, yello and orange, to match Bob’s shirt.
It was a nice party- there was Mr. Stanley the clown- and everyone had a chance to dance and take part in the games- but I was quite sleepy altrough the party.
Oh, did I mention that my cake had Bob the Builder sitting on it?
“Bob the Builder….can we fix it?”.....
*clap clap** clap clap….zzzzz…………..ZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
I was fast asleep before my party was over....hehehehe.....

I’m ONE today!
I’m ONE today!
Amma and Appa celebrated my birthday at the Ballemy Murugan temple- by giving food – and I cut my very first cake!
Amma said I had a very confused face- and I bent over almost double trying to touch the cake- before Appa help me cut my cake.
The priest put me at the foot of Lord Muruga for blessing- although I cried through the entire little ceremony thinking the priest was going to kidnap me….
