Hello Bumi Matha,

Bought myself a Gecko today - Amma finally, finally, finally (to the power of infinity) allowed us to get a pet - I think its because the gecko doesn't shed any fur in the house..

SEBI stands for Sakkti Velan-Eshvarhen-Bagyashri-Ironman.....because we don't know yet what Thambi's name will be when he is born.

Sakkti Velan makes his graduation speech

Dear Bumi Matha,

I graduated from Kindergarten today, and received the scroll from my principal, teacher Vasu. I will miss her and teacher Janu who have thought me for the whole year. Thank you teachers.

I danced to Kummi music for kollatam, Joget Pahangm sang in the choir and made the welcoming speech in English.


Indeed, it was a very proud moment for Amma and Appa, and I had a LOT of fun!

Dear Bumi Matha,

I took part in a theveram potti today for the first time

and won 3rd place. Here's a picture of me!

And I also won 3rd place for the colouring competition - I was the only child to colour the eagle brown. Don't understand why every other child colouring the picture thought the eagle was a peacock!

Tooth fairy

Dear Sakkti Velan,

So you do not believe in the tooth fairy? Sad to hear that, son.

But you heard from your school friends that the tooth fairy left them money in exchange for the teeth? Yes, that's what happens when you put your tooth under the pillow - I told you so, son.

I know Patti told you to throw away the first milk tooth that fell off today, but maybe we can save the next one for the tooth fairy?

We'll see what happens when you DO put the tooth under the pillow....

I struck gold today at the Taekwondo Sparring competition. Appa came with me and I won in the under 7 category for the Puchong district.

TAEKWONDO

Dear Bumi Matha,

I joined Takewondo class today. It was awesome.

We could kick and punch and no one scolded. You have to "HEEEEYAA" each time to emphasize on the punching effect.

I like Taekwondo. I learn the step in class and then teach it to Thambi. So maybe Thambi won't have to go for taekwondo, i can teach it to him=) yeah, sounds like  a plan.

My 2nd concert

Dear Bumi Matha,

I had my second concert today, to mark the end of my studies at Tadika Merpati Cerdik.

Teacher indira was worried that I may not dance after all, but she did not realise that super Sakkti Velan was observing all the dance moves.

So today, I gave her a warm surprise and danced, including to the Bollywood beat "Dont touch me". I was the only boy, and i wore a striking red suit with matching shades.

Tata and Ammama came too.....and I made them all proud.

I will miss teacher Indira. Thanks for looking after me, teacher.

Report Card Day

You've done very well in your exams, you scored above 90 for you Bahasa, English and Maths. Your Amma's very proud of you. Needless to say I am too.

Sakkti Velan goes to the cinema!

Dear Bumi Matha,

Amma and Appa took me on my maiden trip to the cinema!

And we watched Kungfu Panda 2 (which was an inspiration for me to go dressed as a Panda bear to Aksheeya's birthday party later today).

I was a little nervous at first, because they turned off all the lights. I covered my face with the sweater. After a while though, the show was funny enough to encourage me to remove the sweater and I totally enjoyed myself watching the show and slurping the ice cold soft drink.

It truly was an experience for a four-year old!

okay then, sweet dreams everyone....I'll be dreaming of Po the panda bear.......ZZZZZZZZZzzzzzz...........

SV’s first public performance........

Dear Small Tiger,


Today was your first public performance- in a school concert- in conjunction with Mother’s Day, and you did a pretty good job. I could see your Amma was very proud of you. You were serious all though the performance, but either way, you handled the steps pretty well.

You were also pretty focused I would say, because I’m sure most kids might have been confused about bowing and curtseying, but you didn’t follow the girls near you and curtsey, you bowed a like a boy.


Good job, Small Tiger. You make Appa proud.

The RiCe PoT

Congratulations, baby, you’ve made it to the 1metre mark today. And you’ve put on a bit of weight- you’re about 14kgs now......

Wish you would a whole lot of other things other than rice, though. You seem to like McDonald’s well enough, and you're pretty fond of fries too.....and you seem to like fruits well enough....

You’re like your Appa, son, less snacking, more rice.....

I wish you WOULD eat a bit more biscuits, bread, cookies, chocolate....it would definitely make packing food to schoool easier for me........

The thing about Homework.....

Dear Bumi Matha,

Have to do homework every weeekend. I love to colour now, but I still find tracing the numbers and alphabets a REAL chore.

**sigh**....never mind, after I finish my homework i normally get ice cream or to play Play Dough. It's a good reward I guess.

Sakkti Velan goes to kindergarten

Dear Bumi Matha,

I'm 3 years and 5 months old today, and have officially become 1m in height. Amma called me the Metre Boy this morning.

I also went to school today=), to Tadika Merpati which is situated very close to my house in Puchong Jaya.

I had a red and white checked uniform, a Ben10 bag, a teddy water bottle and a Ben10 tupperware. Amma also bought me a new pair of black shoes which are fast becoming my favourite pair of shoes. For the first day in school, Amma packed me two sausages and some french fries.

My class teacher's name is Teacher Indira, and I happen to know that the other boy in class is called Jackson. He does not speak yet, because Amma says maybe he does not know how to speak English, but we managed to play some jigsaw puzzle and kari-masak together. After that we did some colouring.

Amma sat with me the whole day because I wouldn't let her go. But Amma has told me that tomorrow, she'll have to leave me at the door because Teacher Indira said parents are not allowed to come in anymore.

Well.......I suppose I will be alright just so long as Amma waits outside for me.

Okay, will update everyone on my school stories soon. Can't wait to go and paly with the monkey bars. Have to go to bed now. I need to sleep by 9pm every night to make sure I can wake up in the mornings and not sleep through my class.

Did I mention that in the assembly, they sang the "Ibu...Ibu....."song? Eshvarhen and I just love to hear that song play on television.

I rode a pony

Dear Thambi,

On the 1st of May in the year 2010, I rode a pony. And I did not even need to hold Appa’s hand. It’s quite cool once you get the hand of it, the pony just bounces you left and ride so you also bounce left, right, left, right, left, right…….hmmm

And then I fed the monkeys, it ate right out of my hands. I hope they don’t get sick on the Twisties…….

You can ride the pony and feed the monkeys when you grow bigger. you're too small now.
