Darling Cinnama

Cinnama’s leaving to go to Ukraine today.

Well, that’s what Amma said….but actually I don’t quite understand it. Amma says it’s something like how it was when I had to stay in the hospital without Amma and Appa. Oh me gosh, POOR, POOR Cinnama.......

Cinnama is sad to go, but I look at her long and hard and I’m trying to tell her that I love her too.

Cinnama, I love you. I might forget you by the time you get back here, but don’t worry, babies are supposed to forget.

But I still love you!

I LOVE YOU......I LOVE YOU.....I LOVE YOU...........

BCG Woe!

It’s my 43rd day and I’m in a bit of pain today- my BCG just burst!
It’s been growing big with puss for the past few days and it finally BURST!

But it’s mush better now after Amma kissed it and
put some sambrani smoke on it to relieve the pain.

Puchong Homecoming

The place looks new and odd to me, but the people are the same. Amma and Appa are still here.

Where’s Ammama and Tata? Where’s Nithi Mama and Loshini Cinnama?

I meet my Prateeb Cittapa….and we’ll soon became good friends too!

I see my new room….Amma and Appa’s room in Mina Pathi’s house.

I like my new room.

I’m sleepy already; I think the journey from Seputeh to Puchong has made me extremely sleeppyyy……

*Yawn*

On the 30th & 31st day of my life....

On the 30th day of my life, my family members got together to offer their gratitude over my safe birth and my good health. Appa and Amma prayed to the Goddess Pechayee, and offered me up to her for further blessings.

And here is the first picture of me--- with my Ammama.

After the prayers, I was officially put into my cot. My first cot was small and blue, and I would be sleeping in it until I become too big for it. At 4 months, I started sleeping in Valaermadi's cot, which Rita Attai generously handed down for her Cellam to sleep in.

On the 31st day of my life, my baby hair was shaved as per Ceylonese custom. I was fast asleep at first on the shoulders of my Rasa Appapa.....but as the head became more and more exposed to the cold, I began crying.

When the Barber Uncle had finished shaving my head completely, Appa put sandalwood paste on my head to cool it down. Amma said this was also customary.

And this is a picture of me, with my Appa.

APPA, I love you! We'll always be cums now....

My Appa My Cum

The second time my Appa carried me I was 28 days old.
Appa has only carried me once so far, and that was on the night that I was born.
To make my Appa even more nervous…I decided to burp and bring out some of my milk through my nose....hehe..(just to highlight here, that the burp was original and in no way purposely done to scare my Appa)

Amma later told me that poor Appa almost dropped me in panic, but Amma made him hold me and put me on his shoulders to sleep.

And then I did what I do best…..I slept.

Little Weights & Baby Mittens

I was born 2.9kg and 58 cm long. My head circumference was 31cm. In 6 weeks I will be 5.2 kg and 58 cm long. All the clothes that Amma and Appa had bought for me would began to fit me. In fact, Amma will start putting some of my smaller clothes away.

Since the day I had my first bath, I've always been annoyed by the pottu they insist on putting on my forehead. So to tell everyone how much I dislike the pottu, I would rub the fresh new mitten with the pottu. Then Amma would gently scold me and change the mittens....but i think she had to throw away the mittens coz the pottu just doesn't wash off! Funny though, because in spite of my efforts, no one paid any attention( or got the message) - and after all my hard, hard work and the pottu was successfully rubbed off, everyone just patiently put a new pottu on back again for me!

*Sigh*
**************************************

My belly button fell off when I was 5 days old. Thank goodness that fell off coz while it was hanging out of me, Amma used to wipe it with alcohol swabs, and boy, were they cold!!!!!

**Sigh***Sigh***

*************************************
Did I mention I was hospitalised?? Yikes! I must have forgotten....yup...they took me away on the 19th of July from Amma and put me - naked except for a diaper and a net over my eyes - under photo lights so that my jaundice level would reduce. The doctor took blood from me three times in the two days that I was wearded and that hurt like crazy!

But you know, being under the light was a little like sun-bathing.....sometimes on my stomach and sometimes on my back. Amma and Appa came to see me when I was there, but no one stayed with me =(

Anyway, when you're tiny and only 5 days old.....sleep prevails everything. And as long as I was fed when I was hungry, I contently slept through the whole two days. =)

******************************

Just for the record here, I won't be putting up too many pictures of my good-looking self.

Firstly, the reason being that , my old- fashioned Amma and Appa, and even more-old fashioned Ammama and Mina Pathi have decided that my first picture will only be taken on the 30th day of my life.....and that is another story.

Secondly, Amma thinks too many pictures of myself will invite unnecessary evil-eye casting on little me, and well....I kinda need Amma's help to load my pictures--- so I guess, in most instances, you'll just have to take my word for it.
